Hello world!

I know no one actually reads this (thank you Google Analytics) but I felt the need to put fingers to keyboard and explain what has been going on a little bit.

The past few months I have been doing quite a bit of soul searching and deciding what I want to put out into the blogosphere. I’ve heard plenty of people speak the past few weeks about being true to yourself and doing what makes you happy. Don’t try to fit into someone else’s version of who you should be and what you should do with your life, just be you. All of those motivational things, you know? Well, I’m finally listening to them.

No more fashion or food posts with the latest and greatest dress or recipe idea. No more posts about what we did this weekend.

What will you get to see if you ever make it back here again? Posts about my dogs, I’m kind of obsessed, and they do awesome work for people. And posts about going tiny, living an intentional life, and doing what makes me the happiest.

I’ve know for a while now that posting about fashion and food felt a little forced. Don’t get me wrong, fashion bloggers are great and they work really hard at what they do, but that isn’t me. I don’t have a closet full of the newest pieces from all the hip stores, I have a capsule wardrobe. And yes, I will be doing a post about what that is and what it means for me. I’m no innovator in the kitchen, but I’m really good a following a recipe, that is what I do most of the time, and I tend to make the same ten things over and over.

What makes me happy are my dogs, going out and doing animal therapy work and trying to live as intentional and purpose driven as possible. Keenan and I have downsized our possessions quite a bit over the past few months and we are still going. We are taking the next steps to move into a tiny house and hope to do that no later than May of 2018. Going from 2700 square feet to 330 square feet isn’t going to be as hard as it sounds but it will be a challenge and I plan to document it the best I can. Even though at this point in time no one reads this blog, I hope I can write and photograph our experiences enough to maybe give someone on the outside some motivation to follow their dreams and passions. At the very least I will have this as a scrapbook full of photos and stories from our journey through this stage of our lives.

I plan on being more focused with this blog going forward, especially now that I am writing what I’m passionate about and not what could potentially make me money. Life isn’t about the money in the bank account, it does help, but it’s more than that. Life is surrounding yourself with the people that mean the most to you, doing the things that make you happy, and fulfilling your purpose.

Don’t do what other people say you should do, do what you think you should do. Follow your heart and be purposeful in your actions.
